About

Always a Holiday! Bed and Breakfast is an old Victorian-style house with two stories and five bedrooms. Three of the five rooms are available for guests to rent out. The rooms all have their own unique style. There is a room with a chic style called the Splendor Room, a Victorian-style room called the Victorian Room, and a contemporary room called the Serenity Room. The Splendor room offers second-floor privacy, a king-size bed, and a private bathroom. The Victorian room is located on the first floor and is adjacent to the living room. There is a private bathroom with a clawfoot tub and a shower. The Serenity room offers guests second-floor privacy, a queen bed, and a private bathroom.

The owner's, Brenda Hawkins, personal favorite room is the Splendor room. It has a king-size bed, has a two-person heated whirlpool tub, and is the biggest room available. Every room has a flat-screen TV and a DVD player for guests' entertainment. Other amenities include a ceiling fan, heater, blackout curtains, and blinds. The owner, Brenda, is mindful of travelers and how easy it is to forget essential toiletries while on the road, so there are Q-tips, cotton balls, a blow dryer, and much more provided in the bathrooms.

Both the upstairs and downstairs have an area where guests can enjoy as much tea and coffee as they wish. There is also a refrigerator where guests can store food if they have leftovers or on a special diet. An item available for guests is a hot air popcorn popper. Brenda supplies the popcorn, and guests can find entertainment in Brenda's collection of movies, books, or games offered to guests. During their stay, guests are provided with complimentary cookies and beverages. Brenda offers guests a homemade breakfast from anytime between 8 and 10 am.

The outside of the house is bordered with flowers and shrubbery. There is a fence that goes along the backyard. Always a Holiday! B&B is located in a convenient location, with lots of surrounding stores. They are near the bay, making for excellent sailing. East Tawa is a tourist town in the summer because of the water features, shops, and restaurants. Three of the restaurants that Brenda suggested were the Boathouse Beer Co. & Boozery, Route 23 BBQ, and Mr. Jack's Sports Bar & Grill. The Boathouse Beer Co. & Boozery is a brewpub serving seafood, sandwiches, salads, desserts, drinks, and more. Guests can experience a BBQ feast at Route 23 BBQ. Mr. Jack's Sports Bar and Grill serve sandwiches, fish tacos, mac & cheese, and other daily specials.

History

Always a Holiday! Bed and Breakfast opened in late 2015 and had its first guests in January of 2016. Brenda Hawkins decided to buy the old home and start her own bed and breakfast. The house was built in 1892 and is an old Victorian, two-storied home. Being the original owner, she started everything from the bottom up. She was able to retire at a young age and wanted to find something that could keep her busy and meeting new people. Brenda enjoys decorating and cooking, so running a B&B felt like a perfect match. Brenda enjoys the flexible schedule of running a bed and breakfast, and her favorite part is meeting and interacting with new people.
