About

Anniversary inn is located in Boise, Idaho the capital city of the state. The establishment is situated directly alongside Ann Morrison Park. Expanding to about one acre, the property has a front yard landscaped with flowers, shrubs, and various trees. To the side of the premises, there is a sizable southern porch that includes tables where guests can eat and socialize. Additionally, a grill can be found on the side of the home near a small grass area. Chairs and tables can be set out along the grass area and patrons can try to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Umbrellas can be added to the tables upon request.

The building is three stories high, with 41 rooms in total. The outside of the home is said to have a victorian exterior. On the inside, the home is relatively unique. There are three different types of suites: the Ruby suites, Emerald suites, and Diamond suites. Each unit has a unique name and theme accompanying the room. Some themes include jungle and safari, a desert canyon, castles, palaces, pirate ships,  Hawaiian islands, and Hollywood. Walls have often been painted or molded to follow the theme. Replicas of trees, rocks, statues, and various species of furniture adorn the rooms. The walls have often been painted with murals such as lions on the savannah, a vast ocean, or a forest background. The Ruby suites are typically situated on the first floor, while the Emerald suites are on the second floor, and the Diamond suites are located on the third floor. A popular suite among guests is the Treasure Room, decorated as a ship out at sea. It has views of the downtown area and is a relatively larger suite.

All units have a private bathroom with a jetted tub and shower. Robes, towels, soaps, and shampoos are also provided. Rooms generally have a sitting area, along with a mini-fridge stocked with water and apple cider as a complimentary beverage with the stay. Suites have access to the internet, Wi-Fi, and each includes a flat-screen TV. Upon arrival, a menu is provided with items and foods that can be purchased and brought directly to the room. There is also a small common area near the lobby. A microwave, paper plates, plastic silverware, and cups are available in the common area for guests to use. Champagne and occasionally small treats can be bought at the main desk in the lobby. Food can be taken out on the porch, back to the room, or on the grass area near the park. Vending machines in hallways are an alternative option to the menu if patrons desire.

The Anniversary Inn is located in a central area within walking distance to many activities. Next to the building is Ann Morrison Park, a popular place in the area. It has a large recreation field for various sports. Designated areas for sports such as baseball, cricket, soccer, football, and lacrosse are available throughout the park. There is also a large disc golf course and a small dog park. Visitors can also walk and bike on trails or watch the river as it runs along the park on the north side. Several museums are across the bridge near the establishment, such as Boise State Museum and Boise Art Museum. Boise Zoo is a few blocks north of the museums and is also a popular attraction in the city.

Culture

The Anniversary Inn strives to give guests a memorable experience. They want patrons to feel comfortable in their suites and to be able to relax. In an attempt to achieve this goal, breakfast is provided at the inn, and items can be chosen from the menu. Breakfast is available from 7:00 in the morning to 11:00. Common breakfast items include biscuits and gravy, ham and cheese croissants, bacon and sausage, cinnamon rolls, and par fee. Breakfast can be brought to guests' rooms and the porch. Other food items, beverages, and treats are available at any time of the day as often as visitors to the property desire. Dietary restrictions and food accommodations can be met if given advanced notice.

The inn is generally meant for couples as a romantic getaway. Children of any age are not allowed at the establishment. The staff makes an effort to interact with guests as much as is desired. They often enjoy recommending places to eat, things to see, and attractions to visit. Visiting museums, Ann Morrison Park, and visiting Boise State College are popular activities within the area. Patrons are often more mature, but many newlyweds and younger couples usually stay as well. One particular guest said about their stay, "We stayed in the Romeo's retreat, absolutely wonderful. Customer service was so sweet, and the room was in excellent shape, and the vibe was so cute". The inn is most popularly known for its rooms and the decor that is inside them. The owners say this is one of the biggest draws to their property.

History

The owners of the Anniversary Inn purchased the lot and began to build the inn a few years before it opened in December of 1998. The goal was to bring an inn exclusively for couples celebrating honeymoons, anniversaries, and special moments. The owners owned land in Utah and had similar properties in Salt Lake City. They decided to expand to Idaho and saw the property as having great potential. Over the years, they have continued to add to the establishment, renovating the rooms, updating the decor, repainting the walls, and trying to give guests a modern but unique experience. They strive to continue updating amenities and rooms to help with the experience. They continue to meet new people and help couples make new memories.
