History

The owner of Brook Trout Inn—Julie Doerter—and her husband bought the property in 2015 and did a fair amount of work to remodel it. In June of 2016, they were ready to open the inn to the public formally. They have made various changes to the property, one of which being the main building that now has three family suites to accommodate larger groups. Julie and her husband never thought they would be running an inn at this point in their lives, but the opportunity presented itself, and they decided to go for it.

Julie was a school teacher for many years prior to owning Brook Trout, and her husband worked in construction. When they first purchased the property, they considered it to be in "bad shape," and thus, work was needed to bring the buildings to the quality that they have today.
