Brookfield Farm B&B originated in 1998. It was established and has
been run by husband and wife, Caroline and Michael Murphy, since its
inception. They stated they "always wanted to open a bed and
breakfast." Hence, when the opportunity arose in 1997 and 20 acres of
land went up for sale near where the couple had lived previously in
Modena, New York, they decided to make their dream a reality.
According to Caroline, it was always her dream to own cows and after much research,
they decided on Scottish Highland cows because of "their beauty and
docile disposition." Caroline mentions that Michael is a master of the flock of exotic chickens,
which provide eggs for the bed and breakfast.
