The Cliff Lodge Bed and Breakfast is located on Nantucket Island in Massachusetts. The property sits within a historic town filled with older houses. The building itself was built in 1771. There are a total of 12 units that consist of different types of rooms. Some of these rooms are Standard Full Rooms, Queen Rooms, a Deluxe King Room, and an apartment. The owners of the establishment strive to create an environment where people can feel cared for, comfortable, and welcome. They work hard to keep the rooms clean and meet their guests' various needs the best they can. Breakfast is served to all patrons of the property, with a menu selection offered to them each night in anticipation of the next morning.
The Cliff Lodge Bed and Breakfast is a three-story house with 12 units. The house is a Greek revival style and has been around since 1771. The house is brown with a black roof. The front of the house has six, rectangular windows while the other sides of the house also have multiple windows. Eight columns hold up a small deck above the front door. The front door and windows are white. Within the house, there are different types of rooms guests can stay in. These rooms are the Standard Fulls, Premium Kings, Queen Rooms, an apartment, a Deluxe King, and the Standard King. The Standard Full Rooms have a full bed, a slanted ceiling, bathroom, and TV. One of the Standard Full Rooms has a full view of the harbor. The Standard Full Rooms are located on the third floor. Premium King Rooms have a king bed, sitting area or couch, a bathroom, and a TV. The apartment is located on the first floor. It has a room with a queen bed inside of it, a bathroom, a full kitchen, a queen sleeper sofa, a private porch, and a TV equipped with a DVD player.
The Deluxe King Room has a king-sized bed, a private sun porch and bar area with a refrigerator, a twin sleeper sofa loveseat, a TV, and a private bathroom. The Standard King Room has a king bed, bathroom, desk, wardrobe and is located by the entryway. The Queen Rooms have queen beds, a bathroom, and a TV. One of the Queen Rooms has a harbor view. Premium Full Rooms have a full bed, bathroom, and TV. The Single Room has a "captain's bed," TV, harbor view, and bathroom. Finally, all of the units have various decorations, including pictures, paintings, lamps, and antiques. Also in the house are multiple areas where people can sit. On the property are two patios where guests can lounge at and a hill nearby for small walks and viewing the surrounding nature. The property of the Cliff Lodge Bed and Breakfast is located in a small town that is near the beaches, ocean, and harbor.
At the establishment, breakfast is provided for guests staying at the property. The breakfast often consists of fruit, a savory dish, and a pastry of some kind. The owner, Madeline, has expressed that she wants her guests to be able to "get away from their struggles" and to be able to relax. She and her staff members try to interact with guests as much as possible and work hard to clean rooms, decorate, and meet guests' general needs.
The atmosphere of the establishment has been explained by the owner to be "open, accepting, laid-back, and accommodating." Many people who come to stay at the property are new guests who have never been to the area before, but there are a few return guests too. Guests staying at the property have complimented the decorations, the overall atmosphere of the establishment, and the breakfast. One, in particular, said, "The rooms were so clean and spacious, and the bed was so comfortable. Everything seemed authentic and beautifully paired together. The outside area is beautiful." Other guests have complimented on the rooms and the decoration. One of the guests who stayed at the property said, "Charming place with beautiful décor, bright rooms, and delicious breakfast."

Festivals in the area include the Daffodil Festival, Nantucket Festivals, and the Cranberry Bog Festival. In the surrounding area of the property are also multiple dining places. Examples of these are Ventuno's, Nautilus, the Club Car, Dune, Island Kitchen, and Charlie Noble.
The Cliff Lodge Bed and Breakfast house was first built in 1771. It was built by a sea captain for his family. The house was still standing when the British Navy started using Nantucket's fleet of ships in the fight for the colonies. Later, in the mid-1800s, the property was purchased by a poet named Caroline Parker Hills. She lived in the home for nearly 50 years by herself. In 1888, she wrote a poem called Nantucket Cliff.
The current owner, Madeline, has owned the building since January of 2020. The previous owners before her owned the building for seventeen years and were the ones who transformed the house into a bed and breakfast. Since Madeline has owned the property, she has painted the property and has done some renovating. In the future, she plans to renovate the bathrooms to make them more modern and comfortable.
