Located near the entrance to Zion National Park in Rockville, Utah, is the Heller House Inn on Main. The half-acre property features a 4,300-square-foot house with four guestrooms available year-round. There are also two living room common areas, two dining rooms, and a guest kitchen. Each room features amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, hand lotion, hair dryers, and bathrobes. Additionally, in each room, there is a sitting area that can be utilized by patrons during their stay. Breakfast is provided for those staying at the inn as well. Each morning, visitors can warm up a fresh frittata that is sitting in the fridge for them, and there is also sweet Italian sausage, fruit, cold cereal, hot cereal, yogurt, bagels, cream cheese, and orange juice provided. If guests have any food restrictions, accommodations can be made, given advance notice.
The exterior of the Heller House Inn on Main features desert landscaping across half an acre of land. Due to the establishment's proximity to Zion National Park, red rock and other desert landscapes can be seen from the property. A feature that guests can take advantage of during their stay is the gazebo, located in the backyard of the inn. There are also lawn chairs, hammocks, and a firepit that are available for patron usage.
The inn itself is a 4,300-square-foot building that has four rooms for visitors. Lezlie Heller, the owner of the establishment, says that it is a "really quirky old house that looks small from the outside but really isn't." The four rooms each have private bathrooms, three with ensuites and one with the bathroom located across the hall. The master bedroom, which has the bathroom across the hall, is situated on its own floor and, according to Lezlie, "no other guests come to that floor," making the bathroom more private. The master bedroom also has an additional room with a twin daybed, allowing three patrons to stay in the room. The other three rooms have an occupancy of two people per room.
Each morning, breakfast is provided for those staying at the inn. Lezlie makes frittatas for each room ahead of time so that when guests wake up and want breakfast, they can come to the guest kitchen and warm it up. There is also sweet Italian sausage available each morning with the frittatas that are cooked ahead of time for patrons. In addition to those items that Lezlie cooks each day, there is also fruit, as well as cold cereal, hot cereal, yogurt, bagels, and cream cheese. If visitors wish, they can cook and prepare food in the guest kitchen. "It is pretty well stocked for cooking," according to Lezlie. If guests have any dietary restrictions, they can let her know ahead of time.
Lezlie, the owner, says that she hopes those staying at the Heller House Inn on Main are able to feel "at home" in the inn and that they are able to "put their robes on, come downstairs to get their coffee, and hang out." There are multiple common areas throughout the home that are meant to be used after a trip to Zion National Park. Another goal of the owner is to create an atmosphere where guests can get to know each other and "become friends." In the hopes of achieving these goals, Lezlie strives to greet visitors upon their arrival and chat with them as they get checked in. During the check-in process, she talks with them about her goals and the atmosphere of the establishment as well.
Those who have stayed previously at Heller House Inn on Main have commented on the hospitality of Lezlie, the proximity of the inn to Zion National Park, and the cleanliness of the establishment. One former patron said regarding their experience, "It is such a cozy little place just a few minutes from the Zion entrance. The property was clean, comfortable, & well stocked. Breakfast options are in the fridge, snacks, and a Keurig for guests to use whenever they want." The inn is open year-round for those looking to visit the area. Lezlie says that she believes the best time to visit is during the winter months, from November through February, due to the relatively less crowded nature of the park and the weather during those months.
Near the Heller House Inn on Main is Zion National Park. The park is open year-round, featuring various hiking trails, including Angels Landing, The Narrows, and the Weeping Wall. Also available in the park and on the land nearby the establishment are rock climbing, bouldering, and rappelling. Some local eateries that Lezlie recommends include Kings Landing Bistro and Balcony One.
The Heller House Inn on Main has been owned and operated by Lezlie Heller for the past 5 years, since 2017. Before Lezlie purchased the establishment, it was known as the Dreamcatcher Inn. After taking over ownership of the business, she "gutted the place" and redesigned it—adding new flooring and moldings, as well as replacing the carpets and the floral wallpaper. Initially, she purchased the building to use as employee housing for a nearby restaurant that she owned, as housing in the area was scarce. After the restaurant closed, she decided to convert the space into an inn. Most recently, she replaced the roofing with a black metal material, and she added new gutters to the house. In the future, she plans on getting water catch barrels to collect the rainwater, as well as adding covered parking with electric car charging stations.
The original owners of the land were a man from the area and a woman from the New England area. Lezlie says that New England influences can be seen in the design of the home, which she calls a "Cape Cod" style building. The original owner of the establishment had dreamed of running an inn, which is why she designed the house to look similar to the style of homes in New England. After operating the business for a few years, they sold the property to a doctor and his wife that were from the Las Vegas area.
Lezlie says that she enjoys running the Heller House Inn. She says that she is an "introvert" but that she likes people and running the business "pushes [her] because [she] cares very much." Before moving to the area, she worked in Las Vegas at various hotels, and she learned from working in the industry and with "VIP services." Her background is in design, and she worked for multiple years in the hospitality industry, so she says that working at the inn "brings everything that [she] has done before into play," which is fun for her.
