Hotel Pension Anna was built in 1989, and the original owners designed it based on a pension they had visited in Austria prior to this hotel’s conception. The hotel has a history that began 32 years ago when it was founded by the original owners, who were inspired by a pension in Austria. They recreated traditional Bavarian architecture and furnished the property with imported furniture from Germany in an effort to give it an authentic European feel.

Throughout its history, Hotel Pension Anna has strived to remain committed to preserving the Bavarian heritage and culture, making it one of the most original buildings in Leavenworth, as reported by one of the owners. The dedication to authenticity extends to the more minor details of the property as well, such as custom-made European King beds to match the traditional standards.

The current owners, who are third-generation proprietors, took over the establishment more than three and a half years ago. In the words of one of the owners, their European backgrounds and a desire to "slow down [their] lives" led them into the lodging industry. They find joy in meeting guests and helping them create memorable experiences, as they try to foster friendships with visitors.

One notable change made to the property under their ownership was the addition of authentic Bavarian-style carpets imported from Germany. The owners mention that this endeavor led to "a remarkable connection with the manufacturer in Germany." Additionally, heated bathroom floor tiles were also added in a recent renovation.
