Breakfast is served on the property, and other food and treats may be purchased as well. There is a chapel on the property where accommodations can be made to host weddings and other events. The property is pet-friendly and private for guests. The owner Pam Sadler uses the motto "Stay Cozy" to convey her desire for guests to feel at "a home away from home." Pam Sadler is an event planner and can help those desiring to host an event or wedding on the property.

About

The property of Nolichuckey Bluffs Bed and Breakfast Cabins consists of approximately thirty acres in the woods located near Greeneville, Knoxville, and Asheville. The site is located directly next to the Nolichucky River and the sprawling foothills of the Smoky Mountains. There are eight distinct units on the thirty acres of land, each with its own private area. The lodging does vary in occupancy from six to two people and in its size depending on the cabin. The cabins have a rustic theme to them on the outside. Each cabin is unique, with a different layout and its own little corner of the forest. All of the eight lodgings and facilities have their own names: The Cedar Cabin, Log Cabin, Redbud, Dogwood, Magnolia, Grist Mill, Twin Oaks, and Tree House. The area for dining and eating breakfast is called Gramma's Cupboard. On the inside, the cabins are fully furnished with full-sized kitchens, including an oven, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, and microwave. Sitting areas and living rooms have carpet, couches, and cable TV. Bedrooms are carpeted and fully furnished with blankets and necessary amenities. Bathrooms have standard amenities included with linen and soaps for hygienic care. Each cabin is equipped with high-speed internet and Wi-Fi, along with central heating and air and an iron and ironing board. On the outside of every cabin, guests may enjoy a private fire pit, along with a charcoal grill. Only the Cedar Cabin is ADA accessible for those with disabilities.

The Nolichuckey Bluffs Bed and Breakfast Cabins is part of the Glamping Hub and Hip Camp, which allows for guests to use the property's sites for tent camping. They are also members of Harvest Post, allowing those with RV's to park their vehicles for one night's use on the property. There are only four RV sites at the moment, and they come with full hookups. A pavilion area is located on the property where guests can socialize if desired and be in larger groups near Gramma's Cupboard and the playground. For children, they have set up a small playground with swings a slide, and miniature homes kids can play in. Sometimes activities are presented in this area, and there are horseshoes nearby. Gramma's Cupboard can be found in this central area as well, where breakfast is served, and a small gift shop can be found that has homemade ice cream and jams for sale.

There is also a wedding chapel on the premises where events and weddings can be held if preparations are made in advance. In the region, there are a variety of different activities. Many of the activities involve the outdoors.  A few hiking trails start on the premises of the property that guests are able to use at their leisure. There are other hikes and biking trails in the area that follow the river and the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. A company nearby makes hikes and packing trips with llamas. those trips can be coordinated through Pam the owner of the establishment. A popular walk in the area is Margarette Falls, recommended by the owner. Another activity that has been relatively popular among guests in the past includes visiting local breweries.

Culture

At the Nolichuckey Bluffs Bed and Breakfast Cabins, the owners and staff strive to give the visitors the best experience. Pam, who owns the property, loves talking to the customers and getting to know them. She has helped host many family reunions, weddings, and business retreats. The staff generally sends a text message or phone call before guests arrive to let them know everything has been prepared and that they are ready for their stay. The motto for Nolichuckey Bluffs is "Stay Cozy," emphasizing the desire to create an atmosphere that can be described as a "home away from home." Guests have often come to unwind and see nature. To help guests and others feel the culture and atmosphere of the establishment they do have some policies and guidelines. Persons may not smoke inside the cabins; outside on the porch is fine. The property is pet-friendly, but guests may only bring two dogs per cabin. There is no quiet time but it is asked that guests be aware of others. Breakfast is provided at Gramma's Cupboard where pancakes, toast and eggs, and other breakfast items are served. At Gramma's Cupboard, they also sell homemade jam from the owner's orchards in the area, and in the summer, they sometimes sell homemade ice cream.

At Nolichuckey Bluffs Bed and Breakfast Cabins, the management also helps to prepare, plan, and host weddings. Pam Sadler is an event planner and can help those desiring to host an event or wedding on the property. She has been doing it for many years and upon request can give information on local caterers in the area. One guest said this of their experience with the property and the events that are held there: "We rented all of the cabins and the chapel which were the perfect size for our 12 person wedding party (including us). The cabins each have their own personality and rustic charm, with beautiful porches that overlook the river or forest. The chapel is absolutely gorgeous and Pam helped us set up the alter with ferns and logs to match the boho style we were going for. As an event planner myself, I can say that Pam is a rare find and our wedding wouldn't have been anywhere near as seamless without her help."
Weddings and other events at Nolichuckey Bluffs need to be scheduled in advance and can have additional fees. The establishment is open year-round for visitors and is available for all age groups. The cabins and the general region are busiest and most crowded around the fall between August and October but can also be fairly active in parts of the summer.

History

The Nolichuckey Bluffs Bed and Breakfast Cabins have been in business since the 80s. The owner Pam Sadler's father originally bought the property with ten acres and the log cabin built in 1936. It was there that they made "a home away from home" where they could get away and enjoy the area. Eventually, family and friends asked to join, and many people desired to come to the property. Pam's father decided to build a few more log cabins and eventually run his own bed and breakfast year-round. They bought more property and continued to construct more cabins. They are currently in the process of restoring another cabin that was on the property that was built in 1938. Over the years, the owners noted that they nearly always seemed to be hosting a wedding on the property too, when finally, in approximately 2006, they constructed a small chapel where couples could have more formal events held at the establishment. The family has been helping plan weddings ever since and have continued to host events and improve their bed and breakfast as much as they can.
