The inn is single-story, and so guests have appreciated that they do not have to climb stairs or have neighbors above or below them. Shane Nottestad, the owner, wants all guests to be well taken care of, "They should always have clean rooms, and drinks and meals available." The drink bar in the comfortable lounge of the inn is convenient for visitors. Having the Zzip Stop seconds away makes it relaxing and easy for guests to access anything they could need. Often time work crews and truck drivers will spend a few nights at the Norske Inn. Westby, Wisconsin, is a small city with a population of just over 2,000 people. Locals love tourists and visitors passing through their community. All of the restaurants and activities in the area are meant for visitors to enjoy.
Norske Inn was built in 1996, and the current owner Shane Nottestad purchased the property in 2017. He grew up visiting this same property as a young boy. It was previously the Perkins Drive Up. They served chili dogs and root beer floats. Shane purchased this property because of its sentimental value and because he loves the environment and business. He started in 2003, previously involved in running motels and campgrounds. Because of this, he has lots of experience in the industry. Shane excels at making sure the inn is well run and guests are happy. The property was previously owned by the Melfam couple who built the inn, and ran the farms located on the four and a half-acre property. Shane added the Zzip Stop and made an even larger parking area for oversized vehicles. From April to November, the Inn has many visitors, but it is open year-round.
