The house itself is equipped with six units available for rent and an additional room that is occasionally opened up in special circumstances. Each unit has its own bathroom that is supplied with complimentary soaps and towels, but aside from these, each of the bathrooms contains its own unique amenities. Other amenities that are found in the guestrooms include a refrigerator, a Keurig coffee machine, air conditioning, heating, and a TV. Each suite is outfitted with a sitting area and a unique set of decorations. Three of them have a queen bed, and the other three have king beds. Five of the units have gas-powered fireplaces, while one has an electric fireplace.

Apart from the in-room amenities provided to each of the inn patrons, complimentary slippers are available to customers, and they also have access to water and carbonated drinks provided by the owners of the property. The house also contains a dining room and a general sitting room. The sitting room has a TV that is larger than the TVs found in the bedrooms and sets of cards, dominoes, and books that visitors can use during their time at the bed and breakfast. Additionally, guests can schedule an appointment with a masseuse in their suites.

Each of the occupants is provided with a complimentary breakfast as a part of their stay. Patrons have various options to choose from for their breakfast. These options include sausages, bacon, eggs, Canadian bacon, pancakes, biscuits, french toast, and others. Anna also accommodates guests who are vegan, gluten-free, and vegetarian with more options on the menu that they can select when they order. In addition to breakfast, patrons can pay an extra charge for dinner if they would like.

The Oak Hill on Love Lane bed and breakfast is located in a wooded area of the town of Waynesville, North Carolina. The town of Waynesville can be found within the Smokey Mountains, and these mountains provide the guests of the bed and breakfast with various activities in which they can participate during their stay at the property. These activities include hiking or horseback riding along the multiple hiking trails contained in the nearby mountains, water rafting or tubing down a choice of rivers, and visiting the Pisgah National Forest. In addition to the various activities available to patrons of the bed and breakfast, Anna Tzis, the owner and manager of the property, recommends multiple local restaurants for guests to visit during their time in Waynesville, including Haywood Smokehouse, Chefs Table, The Sweet Onion, and The Scotchman.

Culture

Anna Tzis, the owner and manager of Oak Hill on Love Lane Bed and Breakfast, strives to provide her customers with an experience during their stay in which they feel comfortable, relaxed, and as if they are at home. In order to achieve this result, Anna explains that she strives to get to know the guests and their needs and does her best to meet those needs. She strives to interact with her patrons as much as they are comfortable. Additionally, everyone who stays at the property is expected to follow a uniform set of rules and policies, which Anna believes aid in providing a positive experience for visitors of the establishment. These policies include the prohibition of having children under 16 years of age staying on the business and a ban on smoking inside the house.

Aside from the traditional overnight stays, Oak Hill on Love Lane Bed and Breakfast also hosts small weddings and other parties that can be reserved and planned ahead of time. Anna has found that the majority of guests to the bed and breakfast are couples on romantic getaways, and due to this, as well as other factors, she is led to believe that visitors associate the property with romance because of its name. Anna believes that on account of these elements, various customers have returned to the establishment after their initial visit.

Oak Hill on Love Lane Bed and Breakfast has received various reviews throughout its history, with multiple guests commenting on the quality of service and the appeal of the breakfast served. A previous patrons to the property shared their experience during their stay at the inn: "The rooms are beautiful, private, and relaxing. The bed and linens are spectacular. Anna, the Innkeeper, is a wonderful host. She makes you feel welcome but gives you space to enjoy your trip."

History

The land in which Oak Hill on Love Lane Bed and Breakfast now resides was originally purchased by a man named Clyde H. Ray Sr. in 1897. Clyde Ray, who was the mayor of Waynesville for fourteen years, began building a house on the bought acreage in the preceding year of 1898 and ultimately finished building in 1900. Mr. and Mrs. Ray had thirteen children, and many of their descendants still live in Waynesville to this day. The Ray family owned the home up until 1979, to which Anna Tzis, the current owner of the property, attributes the classic and original design of the house.

In 1979, the home was sold to Shell and Deb Isenberg, who first converted Ray's family home into a bed and breakfast operation. In 1993, the home was owned and restored by Jack and Eleanor Suddath, who named the business "Ten Oaks Bed and Breakfast." Following the ownership of the Suddaths, Tony and Darlene Blankenship purchased the property and updated the exterior landscaping.

In 2019, Anna Tzis bought Oak Hill on Love Lane Bed and Breakfast. Anna explains that she decided to enter into the lodging industry because it just makes sense to her. Prior to her obtaining the establishment, Anna lived in the European country of Poland, and she believes that her background brings an eastern-European element into how she runs the inn and the style of food that guests are served for breakfast. Since her purchase of the property, Anna has added an additional room to the main house.
