Culture

The owner, Lisa, hopes to create a welcoming environment at her bed and breakfast. She wants to provide a modern-farm house feel for her guests. Lisa also hopes that her guests are able to experience the farm and the area. She helps guests do this by providing them with a breakfast basket full of fresh farm items, including eggs, ham, bread, butter, cream, jam, and vegetables. Something that Red Fox Fun B&B is known for is the breakfast basket, of course, and Lisa's breakfast item called Farmhouse Porridge. Her famous Farmhouse Porridge is made with apples, stone-ground oats, cinnamon walnuts, and topped with fresh cream and maple syrup. Lisa provides guests with her special recipe for the porridge in their breakfast baskets. Guests have commented on how hospitable Lisa is as an innkeeper. Reportedly, the best time to visit the bed and breakfast is during the summer or fall. Red Fox Run B&B is open year-round, and guests' stays must be a two-night minimum. Guests can check in between 4 and 7 pm. Guests need to check out by 11 am. Red Fox Run B&B is not a place for hosting parties or any kind of entertainment. The property does not allow smoking, pets, and does not accommodate children younger than 13.

Red Fox Run B&B offers four different packages. The Romantic Dinner Package allows guests to dine at one of Cazenovia's historic dining spots. The Winter Snowshoe Package is great for guests interested in hiking Highland Forest and providing a backpack picnic lunch. The Summer Paddle Package offers guests kayaking in the Cazenovia Lake during the summer or fall seasons. The Girls Getaway Package offers lunch in a rustic village pub.

History

Lisa is the original owner of the Red Fox Run B&B. She has been running her bed and breakfast since 2017. After her college years, Lisa traveled all around Europe and experienced a good share of bed and breakfasts. Lisa loved traveling, the mountains of Switzerland, and staying in a variety of bed and breakfasts. Her traveling is what gave her the desire to open her own bed and breakfast. She opened her bed and breakfast in 2017 in a house that was built in 1854. She has created a farmhouse-suite for guests to enjoy the countryside of New York. Located in Cazenovia, the city was established in 1793 and has a rich history for guests to experience while visiting. There are several mansions and inns around the nearby lake.
