History

The historic brick building the Ryan Hotel is located in was first built in 1903. The building was built to act as a residential hotel where people could stay. A woman by the name of Ms. Montgomery lived at the residential hotel for forty-three years. Ms. Montgomery was a third-grade teacher who loved her students. At the age of eighty-nine, she left the hotel to go live somewhere else but returned a few years later. She died at the age of ninety-one. The owner has said that several experiences have lead her to firmly believe that the ghost of Ms. Montgomery is still residing in the room she lived in for forty-three years before she died. Guests often go to the room and a few have said that they "can feel her presence" while staying in it. The owner, Donna, has also said that she believes if anything dangerous were to happen, the ghost of Ms. Montgomery would wake her up and warn her of the danger.

The current owners of the property have owned it for nine years. They have been running it as a bed and breakfast since they have owned it, following in the last owner's footprints. Before the previous owner, the building was used as a residential hotel. Since then, however, it has been used as a bed and breakfast by two different owners, including the current owner. When the owner, Donna, first came to the area, she fell in love with it and decided to buy a few buildings. Since then, she has been functioning the bed and breakfast and the event center. Her future plans include working more on the event center and improving it in any way she can. She does not intend to do a lot of work on the hotel and wants to keep it as historical as she can.
