The property is nearby multiple ski resorts as well as Weber Memorial Park and the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge. The property has 8 rooms available for guests, each with a theme related to the area. The building is a three-story log cabin with a pool table and foosball table on the bottom floor in addition to a gathering room on the third floor where guests can lounge in and socialize. Many who stay at the inn are in the area for skiing or the Pineview Reservoir that is across the street from the inn. The owner hopes that guests feel comfortable and at home on the premises, and strives to provide a relaxing environment for patrons of the establishment.
The Snowberry Inn is located in Eden, Utah, nearby the city of Ogden, Utah. The property sits between multiple ski resorts, including Powder Mountain, Snowbasin Resort, and the Nordic Valley Ski Resort. The location of the business is also near Weber Memorial Park and a 40-minute drive from Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge. The exterior of the inn was erected in the style of a log cabin, and that theme carries throughout the premises. Situated in the Wasatch Mountain Range, the inn is frequented by many skiers and snowboarders, as well as families looking to play in the snow. From the property, guests can see the mountains as well as the Pineview Reservoir, which is across the street.
On the grounds of the inn, patrons can spend time spent on the front deck, as well as a separate patio close to the main building. The patio has 22 chairs for the use of those staying at the inn. Also outside is a volleyball pit, horseshoes, and a disc golf target that patrons can move around the property if they choose. The Snowberry Inn sits on 3.5 acres of land, and there is a hot tub on the property that those who stay at the bed and breakfast can use when they choose. Across the street from the property, there are walking and biking trails by the reservoir that visitors can enjoy at their leisure.
The Snowberry Inn Bed and Breakfast has eight rooms available for guests to stay in. Each of the rooms has different aesthetics and décor styles based on the culture of the area. The theme of a log cabin can be seen throughout the interior of the building. The eight rooms all have specific names based on activities that guests can participate in while staying in Eden. The room names are the Monte Cristo Room, the Backcountry Room, the Wasatch Winter Room, the Pioneer Room, The Canyons Room, the Pineview Room, the Lake Bonneville Room, and the Sundance Room. In particular, the Monte Cristo Room is a guest favorite, named after a nearby pass in the mountains. The room is decorated with snowshoes and fishing décor, as well as having a queen bed and a jetted tub. Each room has goatmilk soap and goatmilk lotion, as well as all-natural shampoo and body wash for patron usage.
Some common areas across the property feature a relatively large dining area that guests can use to eat breakfast as well as socialize or get to know other visitors. The building has three stories, and the downstairs features a pool table and a foosball table as well as a seating area for those staying at the inn. On the third level of the building, there is a gathering room with a television that has access to Netflix and local channels. Guests can use the area to watch movies/television shows or other activities such as reading or playing games.
Breakfast is included with each reservation at the inn and is served every morning between 7:00 and 9:30 AM. The owner contacts each room and coordinates what time within that window the patrons would prefer to have their breakfast. The food is served by the plate and has a variety of dishes including baked French toast and baked eggs, all served with sides of hashbrowns, bacon, and fresh fruit. A guest favorite is the owners' homemade bread. The owner strives to accommodate for food sensitivities such as gluten-free and allergies, and asks that visitors notify her before their arrival so that she can prepare for them.
While staying at the Snowberry Inn Bed and Breakfast, the owner, Andrea, hopes that guests can feel at home and comfortable in their surroundings. One thing that Andrea works hard on to help visitors feel this way is focusing on the décor she chooses for each of the rooms. Each of the areas of the inn has similar decoration styles in order to keep the property cohesive and put together. She also strives to be hospitable to those who stay on the property by offering a variety of amenities and helping patrons find activities to do in the area.
The area around the bed and breakfast is a destination for winter sports. Many ski resorts and lodges are nearby the inn, and the location of the Wasatch Mountain Range brings lots of winter activities including skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing. Seasonally there is also a balloon festival nearby that Andrea recommends to guests staying during the event. Nearby restaurants that the owner recommends to guests include the Eats of Eden which serves pizza, pasta, and similar foods. Also nearby is the Shooting Star Saloon that she recommends.
Those who stay at the bed and breakfast often comment on the hospitality of the innkeeper, the close proximity to winter weather activities, and breakfast served at the inn. One previous guest said "Our stay at Snowberry was relaxing, comfortable, and pleasant. Andrea makes an amazing breakfast and offered great suggestions for things to do in the area. We enjoyed playing pool and taking in the peaceful surroundings." Others who have visited the property note the wildlife in the area as well as the scenery from the grounds. A patron of the establishment noted the ambiance of the property, saying, "Lovely traditional Bed & Breakfast tucked on the northwest shore of Pineview Reservoir. Lots of wildflower fields on all sides, and there is a cute resident wild turkey family. Our room was clean and well-stocked."
The Snowberry Inn Bed and Breakfast hosts events on the premises throughout the year. In the past, the business has hosted yoga retreats for guests to come and have a relaxing stay while learning more about the art. There are also murder mysteries hosted on-site, normally during the spring and fall seasons. The owner hopes to provide diverse experiences so visitors of different backgrounds might have enjoyable experiences at the inn.
At the bed and breakfast, there are no unsupervised children allowed. Children are welcome but are not to be left alone. The inn is a non-smoking facility. Quiet hour starts at 10:00 PM and the owner hopes that guests will help provide a calming environment for those who stay at the property. Pets are only allowed at the bed and breakfast if the party is renting all eight rooms, to ensure that there are no allergy problems for guests.
The Snowberry Inn Bed and Breakfast has been in business for 31 years. Since 1991 when it was established, the business has had four different owners, with Andrea Burk being the current owner. Andrea grew up next door to the property and worked for the original owners while she was a teenager. Seven years ago Andrea moved back to the area and purchased the inn. Before she was the innkeeper, she went to culinary school and worked in professional kitchens. She also worked for a vitamin company as an analyst. Her favorite part of the job is meeting and getting to know guests, as well as cooking for them.
In the future, the property hopes to offer more food in the evenings from 3:30-6:30 PM, as well as add a massage therapist on-site for guests to go to after a long day of skiing. Recently the business has added an espresso machine as an added breakfast item.
