The owner, Emily, explains that the goal of the property is to create a welcoming and relaxing space for visitors to enjoy their time. The common rooms have things like games and television for them to use, as well as extra seating. There were already a large number of renovations done once it had been converted to a bed and breakfast, so she just continued with the renovations that had already begun when she took ownership. Her goal for the property is to expand and give more people the opportunity to stay at The Amberson House Bed and Breakfast.
Before it was a bed and breakfast, it was a living space that was owned by a doctor with the last name of Amberson that helped soldiers in both The Battle of Gettysburg and The Battle of Antietam. He had seven children, with the last child living in the house until the 1990s. That is when it was purchased by the previous owners and turned into a bed and breakfast. The previous owners named the bed and breakfast Burgundy Lane Bed and Breakfast, but when the current owner, Emily, purchased the property from them, she decided to rename it to the Amberson House Bed and Breakfast, in honor of the family that had been there for almost a century.
