Hazael and Nancy Jane Tucker were the original owners of the Tucker House and bought the property in 1839. In 1840, the Tucker House was built. The current owners, Devona and Steve Porter, have shared the home through a bed and breakfast, decorated with 19th-century antiques. Devona quit her job, and the two of them decided to do something different. Devona had always dreamed of doing something like running a bed and breakfast. Both Steve and Devona love history and historical properties. When they saw the Tucker House property for sale, they saw it as an opportunity to preserve the home and share it with others.
Devona and Steve have worked hard to get the house to where it is today. They were awarded a "Preservation Award" for beautifully preserving the house the way they did. The bed and breakfast means a lot to the owners, and they do what they can to help guests feel the same way they do about the property.
