Twisp River Suites

Twisp River Suites is located in Twisp, Washington, right next to the Twisp River. The property is owned by Joe, who loves to sing and explore. The building of the bed and breakfast is two stories high and has 16 rooms available for guests to choose from for their lodgings. The staff at the Twisp River Suites strive to help their guests to feel as if they are at a "home away from home." They try to answer any questions and provide any need that their visitors have. According to the manager, Joe has especially made an impact in many of his past guests' experiences. Many of those who have stayed here have left reviews about him and his service towards them. The staff has also mentioned that he is what really makes this property unique.

About

The Twisp River Suites has a total of 16 rooms between two separate buildings on the property. The main building has thirteen available rooms, and the second building has three units. Regardless of which room a guest chooses to rent, each room comes with a flat-screen television that is equipped with Direct TV and a number of pre-loaded channels, wireless internet, a private bathroom, a hairdryer, telephone, a fully stocked kitchen with a refrigerator, and air conditioning. They can also provide guests with reading glasses, earplugs, and flashlights. The three rooms in the second building all share a community kitchen, making these units better for larger groups. Also available for guest convenience is a guest accommodation that is ADA certified, making it easier for people with physical disabilities to enter and exit the room. Breakfast is provided to anyone who rents a room and consists of several homemade dishes. It is served in the lobby of the main building, with a majority of it being made by the manager. When breakfast is made, they are put in to-go bags so that guests can choose to eat them there in the lobby, take them to their rooms, or outside on the patio. Dishes that guests are usually served include quiche, scones, pudding, fruit, and yogurt. In the past, they have done a wide variety of donuts and pastries as well. The Twisp River Suites comes equipped with a significant outdoor porch. The deck has a fire pit and several chairs so guests can spend time outside in the later hours next to a fire. The patio offers a view of the river that the property is built right next to. On the side of the house, guests can find two gazebos, one of which is screened-in. Also close by is a hot tub that visitors can take advantage of while staying at The Twisp River Suites. Outside of The Twisp River Suites' property line, guests have access to the Methow River, where the property has its own stretch of land that is right on the river's edge. One unique thing about the property is that they have imported sand and spread it along the river bank to create their own little beach. Also found close to the river are porch swings, fire pits, hammocks, and a screened-in tent complete with chairs and a table. The Methow River runs through the small town of Twisp. Twisp has over 300 permanent residents and has no fast-food restaurants or chain stores, something the manager says gives it a small-town feel. The manager also mentions that they don't even have stoplights. Twisp is found at the foot of a national park called North Cascades National Park, where guests are able to spend time going on hikes, exploring the lakes, and seeing the local wildlife of the area. The town is surrounded by mountains and forested regions, perhaps making it an ideal location for guests to spend time outside and doing outdoor recreational activities.

Culture

The staff at the Twisp River Suites enjoy working with their various amounts and types of guests. Trevina, the property's general manager, said that she and the staff want their guests always to feel as if they are at home. She says that they can ask for anything, and if she can provide it, she will. They also desire for their guests to feel completely comfortable doing anything at the property. To help their guests understand what they can do, the staff tries to go out of their way to give them their complete list of options. One thing that Trevina likes to do is not "just hand them a key" when they show up but instead "take them on a tour of the property." They show their visitors what they can do and use, leading them over to their room personally. When they get to their room, the staff try to prepare the room beforehand to be ready for a professional presentation of it. While in the room, the worker giving the tour will then show them everything that they might need that is available in the room, and then try to give them a list of places that the guest can go to visit in the area or restaurants that they may enjoy while spending time in the city. Some of the restaurants that the staff frequently mention to their guests are La Fonda Lopez, Tappi, and Linwood. La Fonda Lopez is very close to the property and specializes in Mexican foods, though they also serve a variety of different foods. Tappi is an Italian restaurant that many guests have enjoyed in the past, and Linwood mainly serves Asian dishes, providing visitors with an Asian menu daily. There is also a new tap house next door to the bed and breakfast that serves beer and cider to visitors. Trevina says that if they were to have a motto on the property, it would be "home suite home." This would be the motto because of the focus that the staff has toward making visitors to the property feel welcomed. The staff strives to be friendly and happy, especially when helping their guests. Joe, the owner of the property, leads by example in this effort, and many of the reviews that guests have left in the past seem to reflect this. One guest wrote, "our accommodations were beautiful, and the staff was awesome. Our suite is compared best with an apartment or a balcony suite on a cruise ship. Joe has gone above and beyond to make his guests feel at home. The breakfast is fresh and plentiful." Another guest wrote that "this felt more like second home vs. a hotel—amazing customer service experience from start to finish. Within a stone's throw of 360 mountain views, a hike in the forest or a serene spot to relax by the river. The continental breakfast tasted like mom's home cooking." Joe is well-known on this property. The staff and guests have had high respect for him and his unique, personable personality. Joe strives to go out of his way for his guests, all the way from serving their needs to singing happy birthday to them in a Donald Duck impersonation. Other things that the property is known for are their breakfast with their special scones, their pet-friendly rooms, and the other staff members. Guests that visit Twisp River Suites have often found them by a simple search on the internet but have then chosen to revisit the property at a later date. According to Trevina, many guests are repeat guests who keep coming back to spend more time at this property. Most of the guests that visit are couples of many different ages, usually above 30 years of age. The staff loves making friends with those who stay with them, which perhaps has made a helpful contribution to the success found at Twisp River Suites. The property is open all year round, with their busy season starting in mid-May and ending in mid-October.

History

The Twisp River Suites is owned by a man named Joe. He enjoys having a good social life with friends and family and has also always enjoyed singing and music. He started out in women's fashion and then moved on to starting and owning a business that is known today as Spirit Halloween. After some time, he decided to sell that business and move over to Twisp. He loved the area and felt that it would be an ideal place for people to visit. In his own words, Joe thought, "why not build an inn on that empty land next to the pub… a home for those who wish to visit this terrific area?" After some preparation, Joe found people in the area that could build the Twisp River Suites in hopes that people visiting would have a place that would allow them to enjoy the area just as he did due to it being built from the very people who live there. In the future, Joe hopes to continue working on his property and eventually sell the rooms as condos where he can then manage them.
