The outdoor seating area is attached and accessible from the lodge, and people can utilize this area to watch the birds, cows, and various other animals that may be seen from the property.
The property management hopes that each person who comes to the West Usk Lighthouse can "relax" and "de-stress" from their current situations. Danielle, one of the owners, says she does not like creating rules, and she adds that there are not many policies that she and her husband expect patrons to follow. As a reflection of this, pets are welcome as long as the owners of the pets clean up after them. Regarding how often people socialize with the owners, visitors may determine how much interaction they have with Danielle and her husband. Danielle remarks that her husband is "friendly, caring, and goes the extra mile." During their time in London, England, Danielle and her husband, the present owners, came to learn about what is now known as the West Usk Lighthouse. They saw that there were lighthouses for sale, and they both decided to purchase the property. Around the 1980s, they bought the establishment, and the main building became the lighthouse. The main building was first constructed in 1821. According to Danielle, the lighthouse has 10 guest rooms which were formerly where they would house their visitors. Danielle and her husband later decided to use the lighthouse as their permanent residence and no longer extended its rooms for patrons to reserve.
After purchasing the acreage and making the needed updates, Danielle says they made it available for people to host weddings. Danielle mentions that it was another way to help supplement their income. After closing the lighthouse, they decided to open up another building on the grounds, The Light-Keepers Lodge, to accommodate guests. This lodge, Danielle says, was recently constructed and had a newer look to it. However, they want it to have an "older look" and have enlisted the help of a family member to achieve this.
